With all that is wrong with the world, I find myself most disturbed by the fact that “Two and a Half Men” exists.
I mean, people care about this show. It brings people happiness. People actually create the dialogue and are proud of the jokes. The actors willingly recite the lines. For Christ’s sake, Ashton Kutcher is now involved — that alone has sent my entire thought process on logic into a spiraling tailspin.
The show is starting its ninth season, as in it’s coming close to a decade of existence. For 177 episodes, people have laughed at a chubby kid, a nerdy adult, and an idiotic man slut do the same thing every day. It has won five primetime Emmys.
People like this show. People think this show is funny. The more I repeat these things to myself, the less sense they and the human condition make to me.
It does get pretty lonely up here on my pedestal sometimes, but I’ll be goddamned if I’m stepping down from this one.
